How does "Pending Close" Work?

Telemetry displays "Pending Close" at the top of the plan, for any period that has not been reviewed and published by the organization administrator. This ensures that any viewers of the plan remain aware that while the month has ended, the numbers have not been closed.

The column that is tagged with "Pending Close" will either display projections or actuals depending upon the organizations global settings

Display Options in General Setting

In the Admin Console > General Settings > Historical Period(s) you can configure Telemetry to either

  1. "Automate" actuals for all historical periods (and display pending close)

  2. Or follow the plan settings and respect the plan display until published

Closing The Month in Your Plans

You will close the month differently depending on if you are managing your plans from Web or from an existing spreadsheet plan.

1. Closing Web-Created Plans

To close the month and remove the "Pending Close" label on Web-Created plans

  1. Click the "Pending Close" button at the top of the column and choose "Close Month"

  2. A preview screen will load with the latest actuals from the ERP.

    1. You can simple choose to confirm the actuals by clicking the button at the bottom, or you can recalculate forecasts

  3. If you choose to "recalculate forecasts" in the upper right toggle, the preview will update with color coded projections. Green means the value was unchanged. Yellow means the value changed

  4. Hit confirm to lock in new projections and publish to the plan

NOTE: Closing the month will create a new version of the plan. You can always roll back the plan to a prior version with prior projections.

2. Closing Spreadsheet Plans

To close the month in a spreadsheet based plan

  1. Change the monthly indicator from projected to actual

    1. On initial Fetch you will be presented with the option to save and publish

  2. If you choose to decline the publish after fetch, click Save and then return to the sheet

  3. Once revisions are finished to projections, return to the sync tab and name the version

  4. Click Publish

  5. The Web destination for the plan will now no longer show "Pending Close" as its been published with actuals following the close of the month
