Editing Mappings in your Spreadsheet Model

aka "Why do you need to keep add-ins open"

We know mapping your business model takes some time, therefore it is intended to be a one-time exercise. As a result, we make it easy to track row and column changes in your spreadsheet model โ€“ so long as you have the Telemetry spreadsheet add-in open during those edits. Otherwise, Telemetry does not know what changes have been made and is therefore unable to keep your mappings intact.

When the add-in is open, Telemetry can track row and column inserts, row and column deletes, and row cut and paste actions, keeping your mappings intact the entire time.

If you inadvertently make row/column changes without the add-in open, you can either remap your file or roll back to an intact mapped spreadsheet (download earlier files in Versions), then open the add-in and process your row/column changes again.
